I know some members of the Mindbender Club are fans of true crime. If that’s you, have you been keeping up with the Karen Read murder trial in Boston?
This has all the makings of a movie—in fact, it HAS to be made into a movie soon. To me, it’s been as fascinating as the OJ debacle three decades ago.
My wife turned me on to this trial and at first I thought she was making a big deal out of nothing. But NOW, I’ve stayed up late each night for the last week watching the video replays of testimony that aired on Court TV.
You have a woman accused of running over her boyfriend—a cop, no less—with her SUV, and the defense claiming she was framed by other cops. You have a crack defense team, a bumbling prosecutor, sketchy witnesses, and a judge who twirls her glasses while listening to testimony. I mean, come on!
After 29 days of drama, today (Tuesday) we get the closing arguments.
I’m on the edge of my seat.
Let's get on with the countdown.
Along with today's Mindbender you get these bonus stories:
Students and A.I.
A wacky reason for divorce
Easy for YOU
But first, today's Mindbender for a Two-Point Tuesday:
Ten percent of people say this is the worst thing about their job — and it has nothing to do with the boss or their coworkers.
Josh said, "the office chairs,” and Jeremy guessed “the color of the flooring.”
I'll have a clue coming up.
Students and A.I.

This should surprise exactly NO ONE.
But it also will accelerate the debate over the use of artificial intelligence, especially when it comes to education.
In a survey, 51% of college students this past spring said A.I. helped them get better grades.
The study was conducted by a company that makes A.I. products to help students study, so they are thrilled with the results.
Is this a good thing, or are we concerned? I see both sides.
And honestly, that horse is out of the barn, man.
A wacky reason for divorce
People have broken up over some ridiculous things—you might even have a pretty good story yourself.
But can you top this?
A woman claims she filed for divorce because, quote: “My husband over-tightens ALL the jar lids.”
She says it may not seem like a big deal, but when it’s EVERY jar, tightened to the point where she can’t open anything without him around, it’s just too annoying.
And she swears he’s doing it on purpose. You can read the whole sordid story here.
I shared this story simply to show you that your life isn’t as crazy as you think.
Here's a clue for the Mindbender:
Maybe a good argument for public transportation.
Easy for YOU

What’s something you have a hard time with, but it seems easy for almost everyone else?
This fun mind-candy was put before people on Reddit, and they came through with things like:
- Shuffling cards
- Parking straight
- Rolling my R’s
- Cutting in a straight line with scissors
Not everyone got the assignment, if you know what I mean, because there were some serious answers. But overall, it’s good for a laugh, right here.
And now, the answer to today's Mindbender:
![](https://substackcdn.com/image/fetch/w_1456,c_limit,f_auto,q_auto:good,fl_progressive:steep/https%3A%2F%2Fsubstack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com%2Fpublic%2Fimages%2F6856579c-493c-4f0a-aef4-26e2ead1b58d_1224x912.jpeg)
What do they hate about their job?
The parking.
When our radio station was in downtown Denver, this was at the top of almost everyone’s list.
Talk trash about the suburbs all you like, but the parking is usually better.
That'll do it for today's Mindbender. Thank you for being part of The Club.
Enjoy your day!

I think we've had enough unsupported accusations for one case, Doctor Kumagai.

I had a, roommate who never tighten lids. Half a twist was good enough. Now the image - I grab the salad dressing from the fridge and give it a good shake. Yikes!
