It’s hard to find a performer more beloved than Dolly Parton. And with all her achievements, she can now add a #1 song on the Classic Rock Songs chart.
She recently teamed up with Mötley Crüe to create a special version of their smash hit, “Home Sweet Home.” This year marks the song’s 40th anniversary—which is mind-blowing. FORTY YEARS?
But you know what? This pairing actually works. I like what she adds to it, especially when she starts belting it out.
Proceeds from the sales benefit a charitable organization that helps teens and other young people experiencing homelessness.
You can see the video of the song, which mixes in classic footage of the Crüe from their heyday with shots of Dolly’s contributions in the studio. It’s pretty cool. Check it out here.
Let's get on with the countdown.
Along with today's Mindbender you get these bonus stories:
The best cereals of all time
Vanilla is still the king
Nobody wants to be the boss
But first, today's Mindbender:
If they could change anything about the man in their life, nearly one in five women said it would be (blank).
I'll have a clue coming up.
The best cereals of all time
Cinnamon Toast Crunch just released a new bacon version. The jury is still out on that.
But the original—yes, the Cinnamon Toast Crunch OG—just scored the number one slot in a ranking of best cereals of all time.
We must really like cinnamon in the morning, because Cinnamon Life came in at #4.
Lots and lots of sugary treats made the top ten. The legendary Frosted Flakes just squeaked in at #10.
My personal fave, Honey Bunches of Oats, only scored an honorable mention. Sad day.
See the full rankings here.
Vanilla is the king
Summertime means ice cream! Well, for some of us, it’s good regardless of the season.
But Instacart released a list of the flavors that people are ordering online, and believe it or not, VANILLA is still #1.
Come on, people.
Chocolate was next, followed by Cookies and Cream. Strawberry grabbed the fourth spot.
I was pleased to see Peanut Butter Chocolate at least make the top ten.
They say the biggest trending flavor in the Midwest is Moose Tracks, which combines vanilla ice cream with fudge and peanut butter cups. Heck yeah.
See the story and list here.
Here's a clue for the Mindbender:
I guess the guys should just be thankful they still have it.
Nobody wants to be the boss
It’s bad enough that not enough people are learning trades, like plumbing, electrical, car maintenance, etc.
But there’s another new trend that’s causing some trouble in the country’s workforce.
Nobody wants to be the boss anymore.
Supervisors are leaving in droves, citing things like burnout and increasing turnover in their workers. And fewer people want to take on the responsibility.
Experts say this is creating “a vicious cycle” that cuts down on productivity and breeds toxicity in the workplace.
You can read the report here.
And now, the answer to today's Mindbender:

What would these women change about the man in their life?
His hairstyle.
This might explain why so many guys finally just give up and shave their head.
Better than the 80s ‘do they’re rockin’.
That'll do it for today's Mindbender. Thank you for being part of The Club.
Enjoy your day!
