Like many people, my handwriting has deteriorated over the years. Maybe a case of use-it-or-lose-it?
Regardless, my signature today looks almost nothing like it did when I was in my 20s.
But it’s hilarious when I sign my name on one of those electronic screens for a credit card purchase. It’s just a squiggly line. Do you do that?
We’re not alone. One in five people do the line scribble, while 68% do attempt an actual signature.
They say 2% “do something else.” I’d love to know what that is.
Let's get on with the countdown.

But first, today's Mindbender:
Nearly 40% of men say they haven’t changed this since they were a kid. For women, the number is only 12%.
I'll have a clue coming up.
A.I. is already saving you time
The headline really shouldn’t surprise us. We’ve been using digital helpers for years.
Now a report says artificial intelligence is saving people an average of one hour a day at work.
This was a survey of 35,000 people, which is a healthy base.
More than one in four say A.I. has made for a better work/life balance.
But 23% said they’re still doing the same amount of work—it’s just different.
Who do you trust?
Word-of-mouth has always been a powerful tool in sales.
But the world of social media has changed all of that.
Today, Gen-Z’ers say they pay attention to influencers way more than their friends.
Nearly 60% say they’re fairly likely to buy something an influencer suggests. Their friends’ suggestion? They’ll only buy that 40% of the time.
In fact, influencers come first, followed by posts from companies you follow, then the ads that pop up in your feed (yes, those work) . . . and THEN your friends’ opinions.
Here's a clue for the Mindbender:
Maybe they still like the prize inside.

Science stories you’ll enjoy
We’ve been under the assumption a gigantic asteroid killed off the dinosaurs.
But a new study says it may have been more than one.
Besides the monster rock that hit the Yucatán Peninsula 66 million years ago, another hit the Atlantic Ocean at about the same time.
The tsunami it created may have been half-a-mile high.

In relationship news:
Trying to make your partner jealous could really backfire on you.
A study found seeing you get hit on by someone else might actually make your partner LESS attracted to you.

In art news:
A report says looking at an original painting in a museum stimulates your brain ten times more than looking at a poster of the same image.
They say it makes a much stronger connection with your brain.
And now, the answer to today's Mindbender:
What have these men not changed since they were a kid?
Their favorite cereal.
I was a Cheerios kid, but today it’s Honey Bunches of Oats.
Not sure that’s anything to brag about, though.
That'll do it for today's Mindbender. Thank you for being part of The Club.
Enjoy your day!

Are you a fan of creepy, short fiction? Here’s some Halloween reading for you!
Similar in some respects to Stephen King’s early work, people have discovered the warped mind of Harlan Plumber. That’s the pen name Dom uses when he’s writing dark/horror fiction.
In the collection called “Wednesday, and Other Dark Tales,” you’ll be treated to Dom’s dark side. We’ve all got one; he just sometimes lets it loose to write.
