Let me start by wishing you a happy birthday.
Because there’s a good chance it’s either today or sometime in mid-September.
September 9th is statistically the most common birthday in the U.S. My buddy Milo, who used to be on the radio show with me, has a bday today.
The second most common date is Sept. 19th, followed by Sept. 12th. In fact, the top ten dates are all between September 9th and September 20th.
Yes, if you count backwards, it means early December is truly a festive time of year. Experts say there’s more cheer in the air, more time on our hands . . . and more booze in our systems.
Despite all this, August is actually the most common month to be born. And it’s a known fact that people born in August are just the coolest people of all time and dimension. Look it up.
By the way, the least common month to be born is February.
Let's get on with the countdown.
Along with today's Mindbender you get these bonus stories:
Holiday travel destinations
NFL concession prices
Text abbreviations
But first, today's Mindbender:
Thirty-seven percent of married men in America say they have never done this.
Josh said, "told another woman ‘I love you’” while Jeremy guessed “gone on a solo vacation.”
I'll have a clue coming up.
Holiday travel destinations
Ready or not, it’s about time to book those holiday flights.
Google released a list of the top trending destinations for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, based on searches for travel dates.
The top spot googled for Thanksgiving is Orlando. Nothing says giving thanks like spending thousands at Disney World, I guess.
For Christmas and New Year’s, the top three are Tokyo, Orlando, and Cancun.
The extravagant choices are always booked in advance. Nobody plans too far ahead for a trip to Aunt Julie’s house in Arkansas, right?
NFL concession prices
If you’re not saving your pennies for holiday travel, perhaps you should save them for going to an NFL game.
It’s not just the tickets and the parking. A website took on the task of pricing out a beer and a hot dog at each of the 32 home stadiums.
The priciest in the country? It’s Seattle, where the dog and a brew will set you back $19.98.
The least expensive? That’s in Atlanta, where the same combo costs $7.49. In fact, at the home of the Falcons, the hot dogs alone are just two bucks.
That’s quite a discrepancy. There are 22 teams that charge more for just the beer than Atlanta charges for both.
You can see what your favorite team charges right here.
Here's a clue for the Mindbender:
It’s a thorny situation.
Text abbreviations
Do you find yourself confused when you get that text from your 17-year-old niece? Can’t figure out the abbreviations she uses?
Well, Mental Floss sifted through more Google stats to find the text abbreviations people search the most.
At the top of the list: SMH. But TBH, even an old fart like me has to SMH that people don’t know what SMH means.
Next is POV—which is point of view, if you must know. Then it’s NSFW (not safe for work) and the ol’ FOMO.
If this MB Club mailer is TLDR, then IMO you should just skip to the answer below. I’ll TTYL.

And now, the answer to today's Mindbender:
What have these married men never done?
Bought flowers for their wife.
I used to buy flowers for Gretchen.
But then she broke the news to me: She doesn’t like getting flowers. From what I understand, she’s not the only woman to feel that way.
That'll do it for today's Mindbender. Thank you for being part of The Club.
Enjoy your day!
