Heads up that this will be the last Mindbender Club mailer until July 8th.
Yes, even though I always get emails that say I’m not allowed to go on vacation, I’m GOING.
I hope you have a terrific holiday. Enjoy some good food, some fun with friends and family, and hopefully those rednecks who live near you won’t be shooting off fireworks until 2 a.m.
Let's get on with the countdown.
Along with today's Mindbender you get these bonus stories:
Cleaning is a turn-on
Keeping childhood mementos
Newz For Nerdz
But first, today's Mindbender:
What is the All-American food? About 3% of people said (blank).
HINT: It’s NOT something you traditionally think of, so no hot dogs, hamburgers, apple pie, etc.
Jeremy guessed "Chinese food,” and Josh said, “cole slaw.”
I'll have a clue coming up.
Cleaning is a turn-on
Looking to add a little spice to your relationship this weekend?
Well, break out the vacuum cleaner and a mop.
Nearly 70% of Americans say watching their partner cleaning the house is a major turn-on.
Just imagine what kind of sparks could fly if you BOTH rolled up your sleeves and busted out the scrubbing bubbles.
Along those lines, Gen Z and Millennials say don’t bother giving them expensive gifts like jewelry or electronics—instead, give them the gift of a clean house.
And women noted they prefer “the smell of a clean home” over the smell of fresh flowers.
Time to call the maid service.
Keeping childhood mementos
Are your parents holding on to boxes and boxes of your childhood mementos?
In a survey, 35% of parents said they wish they’d held onto MORE stuff, while about half say they kept just the right amount.
And just what exactly have parents squirreled away?
Clearly, photos was #1, as 95% said they’ve kept those. Kinda makes you wonder about the other 5% though, doesn’t it?
Three out of four have held on to artwork. Hey, I’ll raise my hand here.
Above, you see a strange-looking . . . something. My son made that when he was 4 or 5, and we still don’t know what it is. I call it a hot dog on wheels. How do you throw THAT away?
Toward the bottom of the list, 29% of parents kept their child’s baby teeth, and 35% kept a lock of their hair.
Perfect if you plan to clone your child in a few years.
Here's a clue for the Mindbender:
Some people are edge people. I’m a middle guy.
Newz For Nerdz
Science stories from the past few weeks:
Astronauts on the space station had to take shelter this week after an old Russian satellite broke apart and caused a deadly storm of debris.
Many believe Russia blew up the satellite testing a new anti-satellite missile.
On top of that, those two astronauts Boeing sent to the space station might have to be brought home by their rival, SpaceX.
Now THAT’S embarrassing.

In medical news:
A hospital in Texas is the first in the U.S. to start using hologram technology for doctor visits.
It’s kind of like a 3-D Zoom call. They call it the “Holobox.”
Check out the story here.

In apocalypse news:
An asteroid the size of the Empire State Building will zip past us in 2029. It’s news because it will come closer to striking the Earth than any large asteroid in our recorded history.
We’re used to them flying past hundreds of thousands—or millions—of miles away.
This one will come within 19,635 miles. That’s inside the orbit of many of our satellites.
Oh, and it’ll be happening on a Friday the 13th. See the story here.
And now, the answer to today's Mindbender:

What did 3% nominate as the All-American food?
Brownies.
Sure, I wouldn’t turn down an offer of one.
But does that scream Americana? I guess so.
That'll do it for today's Mindbender. Thank you for being part of The Club.
Enjoy your day and have a great holiday!
